Apocalyptic Romance Story Natsu no Owari comes to Steam!

Publisher Shiravune announces a short visual novel by CUBE. Natsu no Owari, or “End of Summer” will be launching on Steam with English and Chinese language options, with its patch available on patch.moe.

About the Game

Natsu no Owari is a summer-themed apocalyptic romance visual novel created by CUBE, a sister brand of CUFFS known for moege under parent brand Cuffs Co., Ltd. Notable releases of theirs include Natsu no Ame (fan translation by Dat Boi Translations), Kami-sama no You na Kimi e (translated by Kagura Games & NekoNyan), and their most recent title, 2023’s Koishi Irodoru Seigiranman).

Natsu no Owari is CUBE‘s 10th project, and contains several differences from their other titles. While many of their other works have multiple heroines, this game only has one. It is also far shorter than their other titles, many of which are much more lengthy. Natsu no Owari released its Trial Edition on July 22nd of 2022, with the full release coming on August 26th of the same year.

Story

Summer in the countryside, rich in nature. The end of the world for two people.

After graduating from college, Yuuji found a job, but had to retire after less than a year due to physical problems he got from his workplace.

After much consideration, he decided to move to his grandparents’ house in the countryside, which was vacant.

During his recuperation, he spent his days making videos of his rural life and uploading them on video websites.

The videos he uploaded gained a lot of attention, and when he was finally able to make a living from the income he earned from his videos, a global pandemic broke out.

People all over the world were dying. Fortunately, Yuuji was not infected.

One by one, people in his village fell ill, and after he saw the last person in his village off;

“I wonder if I will die someday, too.”

Yuuji thought to himself, and lived in apathy.

Then he meets a girl named Mio, who casually comes to his village, and he remembers the joy of living once again.

Although he got a job after graduating from university, his workplace was so toxic that he ruined his health and quit in less than six months. Currently lives at his grandparents’ home in the countryside.

He is easygoing, possesses a strong sense of responsibility, and tends to be overly considerate of others.

Because he tries to make a wide variety of activities for his video content—such as fishing, foraging wild plants, and home gardening—he isn’t struggling much for food, even though he’s the only survivor in the village.

He then meets a girl Mio and take her in. He is initially at a loss with how to interact with an opposite sex. However, they gradually warmed up to each other and became irreplaceable to one another.

A Woman Who Sought The Sea
A girl was living an ordinary life in the city, until a global pandemic forced her to be alone.
She couldn’t live in a city full of dead bodies.

“If I’m going to die anyway, then I’m going to die in a beautiful place.”

But she was too directionally confused to go to the sea, and ended up in Yuuji’s village, which is in the opposite direction from the sea.

After several days of walking, she ran out of energy and was too tired to move. Yuuji took her in and she came to live with him.

At first, she was a bit shy and cautious of Yuuji, as she had never been with an older man before. But once she realized that Yuuji is a good person, she gradually opened up to him.
